When talking about personal-growth, there are certain aspects within your life you could focus on to help with this process. Since the beginning of time, humans have always searched for ways to improve their lives by pushing the boundaries of the unknown, when frankly, evolution has to start with the mindset first. As in the title, this article will talk about 8 habits that will fast-track your evolution.
FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness? What does this mean? Are you still holding on to a grudge? By not practicing forgiveness, you’re limiting yourself by continuing to live, feel, and think in the past. You’re so spiteful about what someone has don’t to you that you rather dwell on that pain and memory instead of moving on. Now, this is not to say you should forget about what was done to you.
You should forgive, but not forget because events like these create learned life lessons, and learned lessons are essential to your growth, just as long as you don’t repeat your same mistake to gain different results. Forgive but never forget. This is essential because nine times out of ten, that very same person you’re so fixated on having negative emotions about could care less about you, so you’re wasting precious energy on a situation that you could move on with and put that unused energy into bettering yourself. Forgive them and move on. Let go of what has happened to you in the past to create a different future. Stop continuing to give these people power over your life and happiness.
DON’T ASSUME

Assumption can lead to some unnecessary situations. When you assume, especially when you don’t know all of the information, you create unwanted friction between you and that other person. There can be small assumptions and minute situations where most people don’t know they’re doing it because it’s basic human nature to question and create their own opinions with the given information. This can be catastrophic in some instances because it can create a lot of distrust and insecurity.
Insecurity is what assumptions are derived from. The lack of not knowing can leave your mind racing and can create opinionated outcomes of what may be happening. Plain and simple, don’t assume. If you don’t know all the information, then don’t voice your opinion. Making assumptions seems a lot easier than watching and waiting. If there is an issue that you’re having, voice those opinions without assuming.
This is harder than it sounds because not to sound like a broken record, but humans are opinionated by nature. Ask a question to get the answers you need, and once those answers are collected, then you can make a decision based on the information you’ve received, not by assuming you’re right. Learn how to trust, and if you can’t trust, then that’s another issue within itself because that stems from a reoccurring problem. You can’t have any relationship without trust.
STOP BEING PRIDEFUL

Pride, one of the seven deadly sins, and for a good reason. Pride can ruin the best of people. Pride will ruin you eventually. No one can continue to live their life prideful because everyone needs help. Your pride shouldn’t be confused with confidence because even though they share some attributes, they are completely different.
The difference between pride and confidence is that being confident is a feeling or showing assurance, meaning confidence is a mindset on an emotional level. When you talk about pride, pride is a materialistic notation that you’ve achieved your status by your own hands and you believe that you don’t need any help to accomplish your goals. Pride stunts your evolution drastically. Learn how to ask for help when needed. Asking for help doesn’t mean you are incompetent. Prideful people are some of the loneliest because who would want to be around someone who openly expresses and conveys they don’t need you? Know the difference between being confident and prideful.
LOVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY

Love, oh sweet love. If there were more love in the world, the world would be a better place. Love has also lost its meaning because it’s constantly thrown around that love can now mean like. Like is an expression used when you feel attraction toward or take pleasure in a particular person, place, or thing. Like is simply an idea of your enjoyment. Love is when you feel strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties. Love takes time and energy to nurture, and it can be everlasting. With this in mind, some people despise love because they’ve been hurt too many times or because they feel that love is just a rush of hormones produced by your brain.
Regardless of your beliefs about love, love is real nonetheless. What stops you from loving? What happened in your past that scorched your heart? You can overcome it because regardless of what you think or how you feel about it, you need love to evolve. The best way to establish a healthy balance of love is to practice forgiveness, learn from your mistakes, and not be afraid to find love. There’s a perfect person out there for everyone, but they may not come in the way you might think. A perfect way to find love is by manifesting it. I’ll speak more about that in another article, but know love will find you when you are ready. If your life isn’t aligned to accept love, then the universe will hold off on it for you until you get to the right point in your life where you are ready for it.
DON’T HATE

Hate is such an ugly ideology. There’s something called karma, and believe me, it’s real as you and I. It’s not your job or place to hold so many negative emotions inside your heart that they produce hate. Hate uses a lot more energy than love because love operates on a higher vibrational frequency. If you have hate, stop it. Remove it from your heart and move on. Hate diminishes your evolution tremendously. Hate can also put your chakras unbalanced. Meditation is a perfect way to deal with hate in your heart. You can also write your emotions in a journal, and if you want, burn the pages after you finish. If hate is being directed towards you, you must keep yourself disassociated with those negative emotions. When you’re in a situation where there is hate projected towards you, remove yourself from that situation and person. Hate is common because it’s so easy. It’s easy to hate someone or something, but it’s hard to love. Darkness is your light, and it’s a beautiful day. Don’t let hate determine the outcome of your life because you only have one.
BE LIKE NIKE “JUST DO IT”

It is mind-boggling how many people suffer from procrastination. Procrastination is the dream killer. It can and will immobilize you if you let it. To “just do it” you need a certain mindset to accomplish what you want to accomplish. The last thing you want to have is a loser mentality because of procrastination. What is a loser mentality? A loser mentality is negatively reassuring yourself you can’t do something before you even try.
These negative reassurances can sound something like this: I can’t do it. It’s too hard. I don’t know-how. I don’t feel like it. I don’t have time. Don’t have a loser mentality because you can accomplish anything. You automatically think you can’t because your mind is preset to protect you from things that may be uncomfortable or uncertain. Life is uncomfortable and uncertain, so if you continue to share these thoughts, you will never accomplish what you want, and you will never have the life you want to live. Kill procrastination by actions.
Actions speak louder than words. A simple way to counteract this way of thinking is by reprogramming your mindset. You can do this by, guess what, meditation. Yes, mediation can help with a ton of your evolution. Write down three things you would like to do, accomplish, or change within your life. Once you do this, write down the steps you feel you need to take to get this goal done. You need a positive mindset to change your reality. Put sticky notes in places you look at every day with affirmations. Put affirmations on your pc, desktop, phone screen, etc. Hammer in that positivity until you not only think it but believe it. Change how you speak throughout the day. Do you know how many times a day you say the word can’t? A ton. You can do it, but you have to take action and kill the procrastination.
HEALTHIER LIVING

It is important to take care of your mind, body, and soul. You only get one of each, so nurture them. Getting healthy can sound daunting because most people quit when they don’t see results as soon as possible, but it takes time. Remove the notion that it’ll be easy because it’s not. It takes a bunch of discipline, but if you stick with it, you’ll soon come to enjoy living healthier. Find a good diet you can commit to, exercise, and meditate. Most people fail to understand that exercising is only 10% of the work required to get into shape. The other 90% comes from eating right. Always start small first and then gradually add more because you have the possibility of 1. injuring yourself and 2. quitting before you even start. Having a healthier living means you need to develop better habits throughout your day, for example, productivity. Being more productive can add to a healthier living because you get more accomplished, and once you get more accomplished, you feel more accomplished.
LIVE LIFE ABUNDANTLY

Last but not least, you should live your life abundantly. In simple terms, enjoy your life. You have only one life, so why not live it to the best of your abilities. What have you always wanted to do but haven’t? What’s stopping you from doing those things? Change your present to change your future. By design, your mind is set up to operate in the past. Your past experiences and memories dictate how you think presently. You need to ask yourself what you want in life and answer this truthfully. If there’s any envy in your thoughts or actions, then that means you aren’t honest with yourself.
Here’s an example; you say that you don’t need much and that you’ll be happy with just a little more money and a little more time to yourself. You then open your phone and see a friend of yours on the beach in Barbados because this friend has a bigger house, nicer car, more money, and a care-free lifestyle. While you stare at that picture of your friend, a rush of emotions overwhelms you, and you suddenly feel this jealousy that you are sitting in your cubicle at work while he/she is lounging on the beach right now. That’s envy. You want what your friend has, and you feel a small surge of negative emotions because their life is better than yours. Well, that means you don’t want a little extra, but you want more and have a lifestyle that’s just as care-free, so be honest with yourself.
It’s not bad to want better for yourself. It’s not wrong to want to be financially wealthy, travel, create new experiences and memories, and live your life to the fullest. Make a game plan and take action to get to where you want to be in your life. Manifesting change is a great way to get the life you’ve dreamt of, but you also have to take action.
