In the everyday hustle and bustle of life, we forget to take of ourselves. We are so caught up in work, kids, life, etc., that we neglect our well-being. As a person who was always reading about everyone else’s success stories in life, I wanted to know what that ONE special thing was; that separated me from them. Here are five ways you can rejuvenate yourself and feel refreshed.
1: Create A Self-Care Ritual.
Schedule time for a divine self-care ritual in the morning and evening. Morning routines can include exercising, meditating, reading, writing, looking at your vision board, or saying affirmations. Setting aside 5-10 minutes of uninterrupted time to practice daily prayer and gratitude Self-care rituals can help establish the right mindset to start your day. These self-care rituals help with that. Take some time every morning to manifest change in your life.
2: Enjoy The Smalls Things.
Focus on achieving in all areas of your life, not just in your career or professional life. When was the last time you paid attention to fun, health, romance with your partner, friends, or spiritual development? These aspects of life are critical. Dedicate time to take a breath of fresh air and enjoy the little things. Turn of your phone, go for a hike, meditate, have lunch with your friends, go on a date. Life is about living, so have some fun; you deserve it!
3: Do Some Spring Cleaning.
You should declutter your home, office, and car. Get rid of anything that doesn’t make your life easier or more beautiful. Keep a clean house—no dishes, clothes put away, clean living area, and so on. If need be, hire a cleaner. When you organize everything and clean, the energy in your space is better, more positive. Think about it, are you unorganized, so your house is also? Take the time to create a space where you can relax, unwind, and have peace of mind.
4: Spoil Yourself!
When is the last time you’ve spoiled yourself? When was the last time you got your hair done, bought a new wardrobe, went to a spa? As I mentioned above, life is supposed to be lived. Learn how to kick back and invest in yourself. You can put money aside for a personal allowance, and at the end of the month, treat yourself to something nice.
5: Take a Vacation!
Vacation! Oh yes, feet in the sand with a nice cold cocktail. How many getaways have you taken in the last 5 years? I bet the number is dismal. It’s understandable with work and life. Think of it this way; if you died today, your job would replace you in a week. Understand the dynamics of this relationship. You owe it to yourself and peace of mind to take a couple of days or weeks off to enjoy much-needed time to yourself and decompress.
