Make Money Doing High Ticket Sales in 2022

What exactly are high-ticket sales? It is one of the most lucrative industries, but surprisingly it is relatively unknown. High-ticket sales involve an independent sales rep(you) and your client(the person with the high-ticket product). You will basically help your client’s customers make the best-known decision possible. This decision is to ultimately help them, regardless of whether they choose to buy or not.

The products or services you will be selling will range from $1,000 to $50,000. More than likely, you will receive a commission percentage of 10-15% starting out. That is industry standard, but it is not typical. I know some reps who have started out with a 20% commission; it depends on your client.

So let us do some math. Say you land a client who has a product priced at $2,000. You both agree to a commission of 10% with potential for growth after you prove yourself. If there is no growth with this client (the chance to make more money in commissions), find someone who can provide you with that. Moving on. You are now selling a $2,000 product at a commission of 10%. Say you take 5 calls a day, Monday-Friday. That is 25 calls per week. Starting out, you will suck at closing deals. So say, for instance, you have a close rate of 20%. Out of 25 calls per week, 5 customers purchase your client’s product that costs $2,000. You will make a 10% commission of $200 per sale, which gives you a total of $1,000 for the week for taking 5 calls per day for no more than 5 hours per day (1-hour call).

This is why high-ticket sales are so lucrative because sales will always be needed. A mentor once told me to find a skill that everybody needs, and you will never want for anything. I know there are a lot of questions you might be having. Like, how do I get started in high-ticket sales? I’m putting together an article about the steps needed to get started in high-ticket sales.

For the basics:

  • Clean up your social media. Clients will look you up to see your social media presence because social media is one of the biggest marketing platforms for businesses. Go through your accounts and remove photos, posts, and any info that may be unprofessional.
  • Find your niche. Who do you want to provide a service to? Do you like working out? You may want to look for fitness professionals, consultants, and coaches to align yourself with.
  • Use your social media platform to promote your services. I am not saying that you have to go out and spend a shit ton of money on marketing campaigns. There are less expensive ways to accomplish this task. Join Facebook groups that have your ideal high-ticket client. Using the fitness niche again: search for groups containing the search terms fitness coaches, fitness professional, wellness coaching, fitness consultants, high ticket sales, personal trainers, etc. Ideally, you can use Instagram and LinkedIn also.
  • Use scheduling software to help with scheduling sales calls and consultations. Calendy has a free account you can set up to help your clients and customers schedule calls with you. Remember, work smart, not harder.
  • During your client outreach, always remember that what you want does not matter. Your job is to help your client and customer, and it is a good rule of thumb to provide value first when prospecting via social media. For example, your niche is fitness or wellness, you join a fitness coaching group on Facebook. Introduce yourself and provide that group or contact with value first. You will not join a group or get in touch with a client and instantly close a deal; it takes nurturing. Provide the group with a free eBook explaining how they can attract more clients, and put a link to it in your post. You can also ask them in your post that if they would like a free copy of your eBook to like the post, etc. There are proper ways of doing this so Facebook does not flag your post, but it is pretty simple. With this method, you can dm your prospects the link and start a legitimate conversation with them. Get to know them. Find out what they are suffering from within their business and ask questions. Questions show your interest, and it also builds rapport.
  • Another good rule of thumb is to track everything. Track your numbers. Track your calls. Track who you talk with. Track everything because you may speak with a client who may not do it now, but 3 months down the road, yes.
  • Important aspects of the high-ticket sales industry; finding a mentor, surrounding yourself with other successful sales reps, and learning everything you can about the industry. Read books on it. Take courses on it. Ask questions about what you do not understand. Join Facebook groups for high-ticket sales, inbound closing(another phrase for high-ticket sales), entrepreneurs, etc.

I know this was a lot of information to digest, but decompartmentalize the information and tackle it one at a time. I should also emphasize a critical step to getting started with high-ticket sales is developing a winner’s mindset. You need to do a shit ton of personal development. You need to hardwire your mindset to succeed in this industry because it is not for the faint of heart. This is big money, and your clients need and expect results because if they do not get paid, neither will you.

Meditate. Create a vision board. Listen to motivational speakers whenever you can. Use only positive words of affirmations throughout your day every day. Remember this and implement it into your life right away: thoughts create action. Action creates results. Results reshape your reality. What do I mean by that? Example time!

You are hungry. You have the thought,” Man, I’m hungry.” That thought of you being hungry makes you take action in getting something to eat. The result of you taking action is you are not hungry anymore. Your results create a reality in which you may now be in a better mood, you can focus better, so on and so forth. Now you are in a better mood, can focus, and keep pushing.

I hope you have learned something from this information. I will also create a more in-depth article on how you can start making money with high-ticket sales. Stay blessed!
